Paradise Cove Family Aquatic Center

Richmond, Kentucky | Population 31,000 | 1,300 patrons per day

In October 2005, the City of Richmond, Kentucky contracted with Brandstetter Carroll Inc. to complete a detailed Feasibility Study for a new municipal family aquatic center. For more than a generation, the City has not operated a municipal pool. The Feasibility Study indicated that the City could expect 876 patrons per day, equaling 70,000 annually.

The Feasibility Study generated a large amount of public support. In 2006, City officials authorized Brandstetter Carroll Inc. to complete the final design. The new facility was dedicated May 24, 2008 by City officials, community leaders, and citizens. The completed aquatic center includes a 16,000 square foot activity pool complete with three water slides, zero depth entry, children’s play area, and sensory pool area. The facility also includes a lap pool for competitive and exercise uses, sprayground and shade features, and a bath house complete with restrooms and changing areas, concessions, and admissions area.
