THIRD STREET TRAFFIC STUCY

Brandstetter Carroll Inc. is currently involved in major roadway improvements on Monmouth Street (U.S. 27) and 3rd Street/David Cowens Drive (State Route 8) for the City of Newport.

City leaders are looking at various ways to respond to increased traffic and revitalization of the Central Business District. One option being reviewed is converting Monmouth Street from a one-way north traffic flow to a two-way street. Brandstetter Carroll Inc. has completed the traffic counts necessary to analyze this flow with Cor-SIM software. KyTC will be completing the initial Cor-SIM analysis on Monmouth Street corridor. Brandstetter Carroll Inc. is preparing to expand the Cor-SIM analysis to Washington, Saratoga and York Street (from Third to Eleventh Streets). Recommendations will assist City officials with future planning.
