The Dogwood Park renovation transformed a beloved community space into a vibrant, inclusive destination for families of all abilities. A key highlight of the project was the addition of a large, all-inclusive playground designed to offer enriching play experiences for children of every age and ability level. The design incorporated both playground turf and engineered mulch for safety and accessibility.
To improve the overall visitor experience, the project also featured expanded parking, a pre-fabricated concrete restroom facility, and a network of pathways that seamlessly connect the playground to surrounding areas of the park.
A cornerstone of the project’s success was the City’s commitment to community engagement. Through a collaborative design process, residents played an active role in shaping the vision of the new playground, ensuring it reflected the needs and values of the local community.
In recognition of its inclusive design and community-focused approach, the Dogwood Park renovation was honored with the Governor’s Award by the Ohio Parks & Recreation Association in 2023.
