BCI is designing The Green at the Russell County Public Library. This outdoor extension of the library, creating a place where community life can spill outside in every season. The 5,000 s.f. pavilion anchors the space for major events, while an amphitheater brings outdoor programs and performances to life. At the heart of the design is an inclusive sensory playspace built for children of all abilities — a deliberate statement that this space belongs to everyone.
A scenic pedestrian path weaves through the site, connecting reading nooks, reflection areas, and informal gathering spots, all supported by site-wide WiFi that keeps the library’s reach alive outdoors. More than 50 new parking spaces ensure the community can actually get there.
The result is a destination, not just an amenity.
