Ford Pool is a new facility which opened in May 2017. The facility replaced the previous Ford Pool and associated buildings. It is located on the same site within Ford Park in Allen, Texas, about 20 miles northeast of Dallas.
The design team took advantage of existing infrastructure, existing parking, and excavation due to the removal of the existing pool shell. The pool’s surface area is just over 9,000 s.f., and features a zero-depth entry, several interactive play features, a 19-foot-high open flume slide, a six-lap lane zone, and a generous 20,000 s.f. pool deck area. Other amenities include rentable shade cabanas and picnic shelters in a variety of sizes. A future, separate interactive toddler pool is planned as appropriate infrastructure already is in place.
