When the Gemini Center’s two indoor pools reached the end of their useful life, the City of Fairview Park saw an opportunity to do more than replace them, they set out to reimagine them.
BCI partnered with the City to design updated aquatic facilities that serve every kind of swimmer. The six-lane lap pool was replaced in kind, continuing to support local swim teams and recreational users alike. The leisure pool was thoughtfully redesigned with a beach entry, modern water play elements for younger visitors, a lazy river, spa, lap lanes, and a new slide, a lineup that turns an everyday pool visit into a genuine community experience.
Beyond the water features, the arrangement of the aquatic spaces was refined to improve the natural flow of users between the locker rooms, pool areas, and party room — a detail that makes the facility simply work better for everyone who walks through the door.
Built to last, the pools feature stainless steel walls and gutters with concrete floors for a durable, low-maintenance tank, complemented by a fully replaced pool deck finished in ceramic tile.
The Gemini Center’s pools have always been a gathering place for Fairview Park. Now they’re ready for the next generation.
