Following a Pools Audit completed by Brandstetter Carroll Inc., both of the City of Akron’s outdoor pools were scheduled to be replaced, located at Perkins Park and Reservoir Park. BCI designed the new pools and pool house renovations at each site. The pools are designed to be identical to provide equal amenities to each side of town.
Reservoir Park Pool was replaced with a new pool similar to Perkins Park Pool with a zero-depth entry, waterplay features, shade structures, and a slide. The original pool house is comprised of two separate structures. The original aesthetic was maintained while the interior layout of each was significantly changed to provide for all new pool equipment, individual family restrooms, and modern multi-stall restroom and shower facilities.
