Brandstetter Carroll Inc. supported the Park District with permitting, plans, and specifications for a new athletic facility featuring two multi-purpose rectangular synthetic turf fields. The project also included a permeable paver parking lot, pedestrian walkways, sports lighting, fencing, bleachers, a press box, and stormwater detention infrastructure.
A key innovation in this project was the use of an alternative turf system: acrylic-coated sand infill over a synthetic carpet with a shock pad beneath—eliminating the need for shredded tire materials. Designed for versatility, the fields accommodate football, soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse. The Park District acted as construction manager and completed much of the work in-house with its own construction crews.
