Brandstetter Carroll Inc. worked with Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Division of Parks and Recreation to design a new aquatic center at Douglass Park, the City’s first new aquatic facility in 30 years. This new aquatic center will be a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a diving board, dump bucket, other interactive spray features, and multi-use programming zones. One innovative feature is an colorful inflated wet bubble, inviting users to climb, bounce, and slide. A climbing wall and 15’ slide lead the way for play, while a lap swim area is available for the more exercise-conscious.
A new pool house with restrooms and picnic pavilion round out the offerings. Extensive community engagement ensures the offerings are tailored to the neighborhood.
