A comprehensive aquatic feasibility study was completed to evaluate options for replacing an aging community pool and meeting Lima’s long-term recreational needs. The study identified demand for both outdoor and indoor aquatic amenities, with strong support pledged by Lima City Schools and the Lima YMCA.
The new aquatic facility, located within Lima Stadium Park, includes an activity pool, lap pool, tot pool, and a variety of interactive water features. A pool house and concession building further enhance the visitor experience and support daily operations.
A unique element of the project is a retractable roof system, allowing year-round use of the competition pool and expanding programming opportunities for the community. Throughout the design process, careful coordination addressed the priorities and concerns of both the school district and YMCA partners, ensuring the facility serves a broad range of users for years to come.
